Boyne River Trip, Sunday 23rd Nov.

Postby Mary Y on Mon Nov 17, 2008 12:07 am

Hi All,

Tullamore Canoe Club are running a Canadian Trip on the Boyne this Sunday 23rd November, if any experienced Open Boaters would like to join us.

Stackallen to Slane.
Meeting at Stackallen at 10am.

For anyone not familiar with the Boyne, this stretch is about 6 km, some long flat stretches with about 6 weirs / features. The river might be nice and high, so paddlers with river experience only.

For more details, contact me on 087 9595288 or through this message board.

Hope to see you on the water!
Mary :D

Directions from Navan town to Get In: take the Slane road (N51). Continue along this road for approx 3 miles until you pass a petrol station on the left. Take the next right just after this petrol station. This road brings you down to the river, cross the bridge and take the left immediately after the bridge. The get in point is about 100 metres down this road (you will see an old mill and Stackallen weir).

See Map and more details on the river on http://www.irishwhitewater.com/river_gu ... php?id=273
